Danny Mangum serves as President and Chief Operating Officer for MWSBF, bringing nearly two decades of experience in small business lending to the Mountain West executive team. He joined MWSBF in 2010 as a VP, Loan Officer, focusing on Northern Utah.

Before joining MWSBF, Danny spent three years at Zions Bank in their National Real Estate Group, where he held positions as a Senior Credit Analyst, Commercial Loan Servicing Officer, and Loan Officer.

Danny is deeply engaged in community and industry leadership. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for NADCO (National Association of Development Companies) and the Utah Small Business Loan Fund. He is also on the Business Engagement Committee of the Utah Black Chamber, a role he has held since 2019.

In recognition of his community service, Danny received the Utah PTA Engagement Award for his work on the national “Tackle Hunger/Souper Bowl of Caring” initiative, which supports students and families facing food insecurity in Utah’s Granite School District. 

He holds a master’s in organizational behavior from Utah State University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Utah. In his personal life, Danny enjoys traveling with his wife and their two busy teenagers (when schedules allow). He is a fan of all University of Utah athletics, loves snow skiing, golfing, lifting weights, riding his Peloton, and watching a variety of live and televised sports events.

Spencer Davis is the Chief Executive Officer of Mountain West Small Business Finance (MWSBF), where he leads with a deep commitment to empowering small businesses across the Mountain West.  

Spencer began his journey with MWSBF in 2005 as Vice President, Loan Officer. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in the success of thousands of small businesses through the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 504 loan program. 

In 2019, Spencer was promoted to Senior Lending Officer, Senior Vice President. Under the CARES ACT, Spencer’s origination team oversaw its largest year of production (2021), with the sales team setting a record with 326 loan approvals, while previous years’ records totaled closer to 200 loans.  

Beyond his executive role, Spencer currently serves as the treasurer for the Mountain West Foundation (MWF, the charitable arm of MWSBF) and has helped to run the Mountain West Revolving Loan Fund (MWRLF) since 2020. 

Spencer holds a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science and health from the University of Utah. Spencer is a devoted husband and proud father of four boys, ages 11 to 19. Nothing makes him happier than having fun with his family. Spencer loves to travel, attend concerts where he may or may not decide to jump in the mosh pit, play pickleball and golf with his kids, and watch movies.  He is an avid Liverpool FC fan and has even traveled across the pond to see his club play.
