July 9, 2024, (Salt Lake City) – The Board of Mountain West Small Business Finance (MWSBF) is pleased to announce its succession plan for Mountain West’s next chapter. Effective January 1, 2026, Spencer Davis will serve as MWSBF’s Chief Executive Officer and Danny Mangum will be named President (and will retain his current role as COO). Danny will report to Spencer.
Mountain West’s current President and CEO, John Evans, will retire at the end of 2025 and begin transitioning operational responsibilities to focus on economic development and his role as chairman of the board for the National Association of Development Companies (“NADCO”), the national trade organization that represents certified development companies like Mountain West. Evans will continue as CEO through 2025.
Evans said, “Having dedicated many years to Mountain West Small Business Finance, I take great pride in our accomplishments. As I shift my focus to economic development initiatives, I am fully confident that Spencer and Danny will lead Mountain West with the same dedication that has guided our organization for so long.”
To ensure a smooth transition, effective August 1, 2024 through December 31, 2025, Spencer Davis will assume the position of MWSBF Interim President, and Danny Mangum will be the “President in Waiting”.
