When you ask a Mountain West Small Business Finance employee what their favorite part of working for the company is, ninety-plus-percent would say it’s the people. In 2018, our employees not only helped hundreds of small businesses realize their dreams.


Stephen Hawking said, “We are very, very small, but we are profoundly capable of very, very big things.”


It’s incredible to think that for a company with less than 50 current employees, MWSBF’s 38-year history includes a portfolio of more than 1500 loans to small businesses across the mountain west. It’s possible because of the company’s greatest asset: our people.

To celebrate the accomplishments of our people, this year we kicked off a series of employee recognition awards. Check out the honorees below:


The Randy Horiuchi Public Policy Award

Awarded for producing the most loans that meet public policy goals for MWSBF this year

Highest Debentures Award

Awarded for producing the greatest amount of loans in dollars for MWSBF this year

Team Player Award

Awarded for being a great team player with all the departments and helping build teamwork

Awarded for going above the call of duty in assisting those outside of MWSBF in a time of need

*All three individuals were recipients of the award for helping a man who had a serious accident right outside the office.
