Hey Batter Batter!

It was another successful Bee’s Game celebration at Spring Mobile Ball Park for Mountain West’s annual Night Out With the Bees. MWSBF employees, partners, Board Members and their families were treated to dogs, burgers with all the fixins’ and a ball game verses the Las Vegas 51s.

The score may have showed the Bees failing to pull off a “W,” but the night proved a win for Mountain West!

The “Loaners” (MWSBF’s Softball Team) completed its summer season with a surprising third place finish in the Cottonwodd Rec League. The team had spent most of the season referring to it as a “building” year, as they were forced to move up a division a couple of years ago after dominating their previous rec league. Success came with a little more of a fight (and a lot more losses).

“We spent most of the year building a lot of character,” MWSBF Vice President and utility outfielder Danny Mangum said, and continued saying the team had been discovering that the ‘Skills Division’ does in fact require a certain level of talent (and practice) that the Loaners spent most of the year trying to hone in on. They ended the season 5 – 8, which made the 3rd place finish in double elimination all the sweeter.
